In Step with the Spirit //

"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved." Epesians 2:1-5

God is Funny Sometimes.

Right now, I'm sitting in my friend Krysta's room, waiting anticpantly for June 8th when camp at Miracle Ranch starts. Since coming, the people I've hung out with here in Puyallop have changed my life drastically simply by how they live. The Holy Spirit is so crazy evident in their lives. From praying for a complete stranger in Safeway, to opening thier homes and giving of resources, to the obvious discipleship that occurs, the Kingdom's goals are so obviously lived out. I saw this at Ecola, but the realization that this can be in the real world has radically impacted how I want to live.

I can just hear God challenging me-"Are you willing to live like that? Are you willing to proclaim my name no matter what the cost? Are you going to live like My daughter, who has My power in her? Are you willing to love people well? Will you trust that you are My Beloved? Or are you going to let everything you learned your first year at Ecola go to waste?" These are questions I need to be transparently clear about my responses to before going into camp ministry and second year at Ecola.

This is what Authentic Christianity means. It's the kind of faith that will lead you to strike up a conversation with a homeless person on the waterfront of Seattle. It's the kind of faith that makes family out of someone you were just introduced to. It's the kind of faith that says what's mine is yours. It's the kind of Christianity that looks like Christ.  I Wanna Live Like That.

 I Wanna Live Like That
And give it All I have
So that Everything I Say and Do points to You
If Love is who I Am
Then this is where I Stand
Recklessly Abandoned, Never Holding Back
I Wanna Live Like That.
