Next Stop Adventure

Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone

The craziness that was spring break ended today. Fellow Ecolites have returned, classes have restarted, and life has somewhat reset back to normalcy. Hearing about everyone's time away has got me thinking how different God's plan is from ours. Whether it was through a mission trip, staying at the conference center, or being at home, our lives were stretched.
For those of us who stayed back at the conference center, we became our own little family. The 8 of us that were here worked most days, and when we weren't working we were inside because of the rainstorms (aside from 2 days of sunshine-oh the glory!). We got to know everyone's stories, laughed, got frustrated with each other, screamed in boredom, made inside jokes, went on crazy adventures, encouraged one another, and, at times, unintentionally hurt each other. It was the wildest, hardest, most growing break I could've had. I know now why God didn't have me go on a missions trip. Friendships were built that wouldn't have happened otherwise, and l learned to trust Christ to use me in my failings. I became desperate for a desperate heart. To let Him use me no matter how I'm feeling.
Now it's over, and Ecola is in it's final term. What's ahead is uncertain.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord...."
Rarely do things turn out the way we plan, and it's scary. Scary because we might fail. The unknown isn't safe, but it's what God's called us to and He is trustworthy. He's already shown up through things like finances and housing, and it's day one.

May we not waste this term, no matter how fast it goes. May we seek Christ and find Him. May we invest and encourage each other without holding back. May we live out of our new hearts. May we rest in Him more than yesterday. Let our comfort zones break and adventure begin.
